OVERALL CRITERIUM SERIES POINTS RACE

Points are even per Grade, all points received go towards the overall GC (similar to World Tour Races where QOM and Sprint points add up to the overall GC). Most Combative will also be included in the total.

The more races you enter and race, the more points collected for the overall podiums and prize pool. EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE TO WIN, NO MATTER THE GRADE.

ROUND 1-6 CLUB PODIUMS - Supported by Club or Club sponsor
Top 3 riders awarded per category (A,B,C Grades) - Clubs to award prizes/podiums as normal

  • Team points/ Team competition will be available for the last 3 RACES ONLY

  • Teams are to be made up of a maximum of 3 riders.

  • Team points/Individual points are a separate competition. However, there will be a bonus individual point awarded for those riders within the winning teams on the day (Top 3 Teams Per Grade)

  • Team points will go towards overall Team prize - 1 prize per grade.

  • B + C grades: If there is an uneven number of riders, a team can form up to 4 riders. This has to be endorsed by WMNS Racing Collab after teams are formed. The top 3 riders over the line will be awarded the team points

  • Teams must be submitted to WMNS Racing Collab 1 week before the race - we will send out a reminder

  • Teams can change participants if some can not make a race. But the team can only race with the nominated 3 on the day. WMNS Racing Collab must be notified if there are rider changes otherwise points will not be recorded.

  • It is not compulsory to race as a team, riders can race as individuals.

This competition is to develop racing strategy within B and C graders. A Graders will have to choose how to split up supported teams and/or add an unsupported rider to join a supported team to make up numbers. This is to encourage competition and cohesion within A grade, to reduce team domination.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

GENERAL

  • A mechanical, will still result in a start point

  • A DNF results in no points being awarded

  • If you get lapped but still finish, a start point will be awarded

  • An Intermediate Sprint is to be held when commissioner decides it’s safe

  • Most Combative - a joint decision will be made by the Club/ Marshalls or Grade on the day.

  • Promotions: Race 3 will be the last race for promotions to be accepted.

HANDICAPPING/PROMOTION

  • The goal for this series is about recognising those who commit to the series - particularly those who show development and growth throughout the season.

  • Having a rider show up to every race, perform consistently, and grow as an athlete is exactly the kind of outcome we hope for in this series. We don’t believe it is fair to strip points for those being promoted - especially when a high points tally is a result of a full-series commitment and strategic racing.

  • A promotion is typically requested by the a club or selected due to consistently out performing in a grade (in multiple races over the criterium season).

  • Clubs ultimately have the final say, however we will continue to collaborate with them to promote an even and fair race.

  • Self promotion is possible. Our stance is that if a rider wants to test themselves in a higher grade, we won’t discourage them - we’ll allow them to try and see how it plays out. However, the club has the final say in this decision. There are no points for self-promotion.

We’re not claiming our points system is perfect, however the above approach is what resonated most with our sponsors: that anyone could win the overall GC prizes, not just those in the highest grade - This was seen in our 2025 season results.

Please contact us if you have any further question regarding the above.
